Persevere

"no matter how dark the night,
morning always comes.
And our journey begins anew..."

oww...

For the very first time in my NS life, I've attained the status of "Excused Boots and Shoes" for the next 9 days.

Have some lacerations near my smallest toe on my left feet. The pain is immense especially if it comes in contact with water. When walking, the pain is bearable, but still the discomfort is there. mmm.

Such a FINE place to be in

We are all good actors.

Take any typical company for example, whenever a financial auditor is coming for their routine checks, the company will become super busy as they try to tidy up all the mess that they are in. Ensuring that the company's SOP are in place, and that all their financial statements and accounts have no discrepancies etc...

Just to look good so everything can appear good when the audits come.

Wayang.

Made a new friend on saturday before the reachlight gathering. His name is Rudyman. Sounds cool eh? Rooo-dee-man. His catch phrase could be like; "yo! I'm Rude. And I live to be Rude to any maggots that dare cross my path..."

Quite a nice chap... Humiliated me and Denise in front of people in Bugis, and forced us to fork out money to pay his company.

Oh well... guess we were at fault too. were waiting for our cell members to turn up. We were just chatting and went to get a drink and before getting back near the ticket dispensing machine to continue our conversation.

So it seems that the "no eating and drinking law" slipped off our minds, perhaps its because humans aren't perfect beings, or could it be because of people's varying definition of a Train Station. Is it inclusive of just the train? and the station platforms? the area after the ticket gantries? before the ticket gantries? The entire area within 700 metres as long it has a path which connects directly to the station's gantries? Can someone please enlighten?

That good friend of mine then approached us, and without saying hi (what kind of friend is that?! I'm so hurt. sigh), he demanded our Identification cards. People around us stared at us, like whoa... a big hoo-ha is happening!!

He claimed that he had given ample warnings about "Do not eat and drink here" through the PA system. Come on:

  • It was so noisy at that point, the PA speeches are like background noises.
  • Me and Denise are conversing at the time, our minds are occupied, our synapses are busy, brain activity is active, we cannot then be 100% aware of things/noise/events/commotions/speeches/happenings around us!
  • When asked if they did played the PA messages, they refused to show previous records. So did they really play the audio messages?
  • There wasn't any verbal warnings.
  • There was no deliberate intention to commit the offense.

you cannot expect people to be perfect. Why isn't there any warning given? Why is it that at that point, there were also people committing the same offense (Probably perhaps unintentionally) and no action was taken against them? Is there double standards?
People were consuming beverages, littering at Pasir ris station on that same day, but why isn't any staff taking action? Are the personnels of various stations trainned differently? Are they trained to diligently enforce the rules or only enforce them if their mood is right?

Oh well, as they say, friends disappoint us at times. Oh well... moving on with life, and lets forgive Mr Rudyman shall we?

And speaking of him, I hope my friend loses shed some calaries soon, or his chances of aqquiring hypertenstion and being hyperglycemic may be high. Not to mantion arteriolosclerosis, which has increased chances of having a myocardial infarction.

My friend!

Bah... oh well... life carries on... yep =)

Reachlight gathering at Oxford Hotel!

Well, the fellowship among friends was very good! Although the food was somewhat disappointing, i guess there are many things we can still be thankful for!

"Grace and her muffin"

"Into a state of euphoria after a bite. mmm..."

"attempting to smuggle it into her bag... bring home and let her sister try..."

"trying not to be the last team to complete the task!!"

More pics coming soon... patience!

To be

Currently am playing "Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings" at times while travelling in public transport.

When Penelo had a chance to walk with Fran during their journey, Penelo asked;
"What do you think is the most important to you?"

"To understand. And be understood."

A cold night

Life is like a keyboard... how melodious we want it to sound, will depends on the amount of effort in practicing it. A shift of focus in our direction, and we play the wrong note. To adopt a slacken attitude in life, and we're unable to harmonize and connect the different measures together in a score.

Praise God... for the condition of my flu has improved, i was like sneezing and sneezing continuously last night, and amount of tissues used for my mucus are, ugh. nevermind.

Yep, just as expected, everyone in camp this week are still in their holiday moods, and i'm guilty of that too. haha. Hopefully when Monday comes, I'm able to concentrate do productive work again. Hopefully.

Duty on Wednesday was demoralizing. I just dislike how the top people expect perfectionism from the people under them. Yes people make mistakes, yes I do, and you do too. At the very least, correct the person who made the mistake, help each other to improve. What's the use with making generalized remarks and expect some beam of light to shine from the heavens and expect them to suddenly gain divine revelation of the subject matter and know everything?

oh well... if only.

As i tell friends in camp, to take everything in good stride... even sometimes its a natural reflex to complain and whine, but ultimately at the end of the day, lets forgive... and try to look at the positive side of the circumstances...

Reachlight gave me something to reflect... so many lost sheeps in the organization i'm in. Yet, have I done enough to attempt to bring some to the light? mmm.

New batch of cadets are entering soon. And my past memories of 2007 keeps flashing back.

Another step on

Blessed 2008 to all!!

It has been a great 2007. Full of challenges and experiences gained, accompanied by the myriad of emotions that saw me through the long year.

Went for Watchnight service at my church on New Year's eve. There was a moment where they were showing a slide show of the past events that took place in Lighthouse in the 2007, from January's Water baptism, all the way to December's Speedlight Hunger Camp. As the screen recollects the events on the first half of the year, my mind kept replaying back all my past personal life that took place in that same period. I was glad and thankful for the experiences God allowed me to go through, all the training in Singapore, Brunei, Taiwan. And I remembered the exact scene back in late march, how my body failed and fall in Taiwan, and the reenactment of the hospital scene with my physical struggles. And that came with the scene of the devastating news on 2nd April 2007. I couldn't fight the tears. it wasn't easy. i remembered when my christian support was so limited. with all your family and friends are thousands of miles away from you. But yet at the same time, God remained faithful. even if we become faithless.

Oh well.

As the slideshow continued, from april to october, all the good memories were back inmy mind once again. The good posting in camp, the friends forged, the relationships with people stregthen, the dinners with my family, the time spent fellowshipping with everyone in church, cell and choir. I am thankful.

A pretty happening day on new year's eve, went to catch "warlords" with Jia, serena, linda, jian han. Followed by bowling and dinner with the musicians and some choir people. Ended of the year 2007 with the Watchnight service with my cell members.

.

Hunger camp was awesome!! Finally a break and a retreat from army. Did quite some personal reflections during worship sessions, was abit sad that it only lasted 4 days. hahaha.

Memories...

A brand new year ahead. Yep... Wonder what challenges and expectations will be installed for all of us... hmm.

Have a blessed week ahead!
