Persevere

Was slightly surprised when he asked me to "book" my december duty date. Hello? I thought you said i'll be free from december's liabilities?

Kinda used to the system I guess... nothing's fixed and assured. Anytime, any momment, a turn out may be called, a new directive may be issued, a call for a new ops order, etc...

Less than 7 months to go. I'm happy.

Left with 2 more days of leave this year... waiting to use those 48 hours to spend with you guys when ALL your exams end.

Bel ended hers on wednesday. met up with her, dan and flan...

The pastry pot from Soup Spoon from Paragon is rather disappointing. suspected its been baked and cooled for a long time, before reheating in an oven prior to serving it to me. the pastry wasn't firm and was way too flaky, and was breaking off too easily. It brought a fresh new definition of the word: CUI !

The sticky chewy sundae was still as good! mmmmm...

It was good to see the smile on her face, knowing her exams have ended. I miss such feelings back in the school... sigh.

Now we're left with Linda, Jia and Jared.

JIA YOU!!

The warm feeling of being with friends is, in very simple terms, good. yepyep.

Flannery told me this:
"See, don't you think you have more time these days, now that you've quit?"

=)

Had a short nap just now, woke up for Boston Legal. And me as a good faithful older brother, who has the positive intention to remind his younger brother that he loves, that his own favourite show is about to start, sets of from my room to Daryl's room.

I walked out from my room door, turn left, and i literally crashed into a TREE !

@#$%??!

ARGH !! was in a state of shock! the sharp pines of the tree were, erm, Sharp!! and i wasn't wearing any shirt, and my poor upper body was scarred!! Ok maybe not scarred haha.

Why on earth is there a tree in my house in the middle of the night??

Oh.

A Christmas tree.

Long fingers

i've come to accept the sad conclusion that my duties will always fall on a weekend.

Thankfully i hope my december i won't be touched. yay.

Do take some time off and view the above if:

  1. You have 10 mins to spare
  2. You enjoy the tinge of tranquility when listening to piano instrumentals
  3. You enjoyed playing Final Fantasy
  4. You are the "wah-lao-so-old-liao-and-still-want-to-learn-the-piano" type of person
  5. You are bored

Time to go back camp...

^_^

Refia is just so cute!

Final Fantasy III.

It all began with a tremendous earthquake, engulfing the crystals and the light of the world. Darkness begins to creep in... sorrow surrounds the emptiness of every individual hearts...

4 orphans, unknowingly called to be the warriors of the light. will there still be hope...

This is the 2nd FF game i'm playing even though the FF saga has been on for 16000 years. im slow i know. I still vaguely remember CheeChew playing FinalFantasy VII on his playstation back in our primary school days.

Amazing cinematics with its serene instrumentals and soundtracks. I remember cheech also did burn for me a couple of CDs of FF soundtracks. I thank you so much again.

I love instumentals. especially the piano.

Final Fantasy

For those gamers out there... here's something to destress.

A parady to RPGs, particularly Final Fantasy. hahaha.

To persuade

The following breaking news is by our highly acclaimed Prof Tan LJ:

Her latest research papers have successfully proven the fact in regards to the declining birth rates in Singapore.

Her claim, that exercising too much in the army has a negative effect on fertility.

And the fact that we are having a conscript army in Singapore, where male citizens would need to undergo Training in the army, thus leading to declined fertility among males.

Hence, the lower birthrates. Which will result in smaller famililies in Singapore.

Now, back to a more serious matter...

Do you know, that if you happen to notice someone who wears a black shirt, crossing a major road junction in Orchard Road, it signifies that...

...that someone, is going somewhere.

Now to some light-hearted readings on Eugene's blog.

I thank God for all the rest this week. Was down with a slightly inflammed throat last sunday when I woke up. still went to church in the end, and it turns out I was down with a really case of flu.

Went to the doctor in camp on monday, got my medications and my mc. but still stayed on in office to supposedly finish off some work. Which until today, hasn't been finished yet. HAHA.

Extended my mc to cover me on wednesday. running nose became under controlled, but my throat decided to turn against me, kept prompting my reflexes to cough repeatedly. argh. stupid itch. Still slight feverish on that day too.

And now it comes to wednesday night. or rather in the wee hours of thursday morning. The quality of my spermatozoa was questioned by LJ throughout the msn conversation.

Here's an abstract:

I am fertile!

SO ANYWAY,

being faithful, and fertile friends, bel and I went down to NUS and have breakfast with the poor souls who camped overnight to study.

Reminds me of my good old days where Me, silin, jincai and the rest would also camp overnight at Changi airport and study Blood Banking. and the faithful burger king breakfast at T2. mmmm...

Click to enlarge pic, to see LiJia's friend!

Thanks bel for the foxtrot, and my nintendo DS for the sudoku.

Jared has impressed me in his ability to stay awake longer than I thought he could. well done my faithful friend! Keep it up!! Persevere!! 5th December is coming soooon!

Mum's birthday is coming soon. mmmm...

The tiramisu cake my mum brought for my bro's birthday on 20th november. Awesome. mmmm last year spent a bomb on an ice cream cake for my brother.

Have a blessed weekend! having duty this sunday! ZzZzzz...

Blessed by my creator

Oh. My. God.

I created the previous post without even realising today is 21st november!!

I was literally stunned upon discovering today's date when reading the post just right after publishing it.

9 years... and counting...

For thoughts

Every couple of months i will keep thinking to myself...

What would happen to my life if I didnt accept Christ on 21st November 1998?

Where will i be now?

What will I be doing?

Friends

Dear Lord, I thank you so much for my friends, and my family...

I really do.

To be myself

I used to tell Samantha...

"be who you are... do not let what others say affect the way you are."

or somewhere along that lines.

Time to tell the same thing to myself.

Buzzing around

being (sacarsm) smart (/sacarsm), i've calculated that i just need to support in 2 more of such exercise, and i'll be Ord-ing!! yay!

came to a realization that my brain needs more time to be awake than my physical self.

Question:
What do you do when you have to meet Isabel and Daniel for dinner NOW, and at the same time be at vivocity to catch a movie with LiJia, Linda and Jared in exactly 2 hours time?

Answer:
Nothing. You just overwork your synapses in your brain and ponder how on earth you get yourself in such a predicament.

anyway, don't ask me how, but yea... it was done, had pastamania with bel and dan at about 7.40pm at tampines. for the first time, i tried their beef lasagna. it was... pretty normal. insufficient mozzerella cheese in my opinion. and while jia, linda and jared are at marche at vivocity.

mmmm jared declined to come for dinner at pastamania on the notion that he had NUS cell. but noooooo... seemed the poor guy fell victim to lijia's SaJiao-ing ability, and agreed to watched BeeMovie with her and linda, instead of attending cell. and having dinner with us.

don't ask me how I agreed to watch with them too... somehow I seem to agree to everything when my brain is still unconscious...

BeeMovie was ok... has its good moments. the first half of the show was abit draggy, as they were trying to establish the characters before it reached the movie climax. and the cinema we were in were so quiet! other than the obvious laughters of lijia (duh!), lin, and jake, and the man on my left, the people on the front and back rows were so silent!

could it be...

  1. The movie we watched was entitled: BEE MOVIE - The Silent Edition?

  2. There was a bill psassed in parliment yesterday that prohibits loud laughter in cinemas after 7pm, so as to not disturb other patrons?
(recall: the recent editorial letters in STforums about ppl complaining of neighbours playing mahjong noisily at night.)

  3. Singaporeans has lost their sense of humour recently? considering that fact that the examination period are now underway and individuals have deleted the "humour" section of their brain to make space for more exam-specific data? which reminds me of how flawed 'some' our examination system is. Its not a test to determine the student's Abilities (plural). But rather a test to determine the students Ability, more specifically, the ability of memorizing and regurgitation. but that is another story for another day.

  4. Singaporeans are having too high standards when watching such shows?

to be fair though... actually BeeMove did disappoint me slightly. guess that's the problem when people have high expectations of everything in life. and complaining at every single bit of imperfections. welcome to Singapore.

I enjoy reading the straits times forums, and im amazed at the little things singaporeans can complain about.

"ROAD signboards can be confusing and should be amended. Once, while travelling on the north-bound CTE, I came across TPE (PIE) - which should be shown as TPE (East) - and I lost my direction. PIE (Tuas) should be replaced with PIE (West) and PIE (Changi), with PIE (East). Similarly, CTE (Yishun) should be changed to CTE (North).

North, south, east and west are directions but not Tuas, Changi or Yishun. They are simply towns."

-By a certain someone, 10th Nov STForums-

Even non-drivers like me, understand the following sign:

In simple terms; SLE (CTE, TPE), this lane is leading towards Seletar Expressway, in the direction which links towards Central Exp and Tampines Exp. PIE (Mandai Road), means the lane is leading towards PIE, heading towards Mandai Road.

This system has been going on and well for over a decade in Singapore! sounds to me like he is a new driver in Singapore. I suggest that he study geographics of singapore before stepping his pedal. oh wait, perhaps there's no such subject in the current Education system! no wonder he doesn't know! There's no module and/or Ten Years Series for him to practice on!!

I think he wants the sign to be something like this, with more specificity:

well... anyway he has the right to feedback... I'll keep quiet for now...

wooo... i love tomyam instant noodles by myojo!

Dog Asks God

TO: GOD
FROM: THE DOG

Dear God: Why do humans smell the flowers, but seldom, if ever, smell one another?

Dear God: When we get to heaven, can we sit on your couch? Or is it still the same old story?

Dear God: Why are there cars named after the jaguar, the cougar, the mustang, the colt, the stingray, and the rabbit, but not ONE named for a dog? How often do you see a cougar riding around? We dogs do love a nice ride! Would it be so hard to rename the "Chrysler Eagle" the "Chrysler Beagle"?

Dear God: If a dog barks his head off in the forest and no human hears him, is he still a bad dog?

Dear God: We dogs can understand human verbal instructions, hand signals, whistles, horns, clickers, beepers, scent IDs, electromagnetic energy fields, and Frisbee flight paths. What do humans understand?

Dear God: More meatballs and less spaghetti, please.

Dear God: Are there mailmen in Heaven? If there are, will I have to apologize?

Dear God: Let me give you a list of just some of the things I must remember to be a good dog:

  1. I will not eat the cats food before they eat it or after they throw it up.
  2. I will not roll on dead seagulls, fish, crabs, etc., just because I like the way they smell.
  3. I will not munch on "leftovers" in the kitty litter box, although they are tasty.
  4. The diaper pail is not a cookie jar.
  5. The sofa is not a face towel. Neither are Mom and Dad's laps.
  6. The garbage collector is not stealing our stuff.
  7. My head does not belong in the refrigerator.
  8. I will not bite the officer's hand when he reaches in for Mom's driver's license and registration.
  9. I will not play tug-of-war with Dads underwear when hes on the toilet.
  10. Sticking my nose into someones crotch is an unacceptable way of saying hello.
  11. I dont need to suddenly stand straight up when Im under the coffee table.
  12. I must shake the rainwater out of my fur before entering the house -- not after.
  13. I will not throw up in the car.
  14. I will not come in from outside and immediately drag my butt.
  15. I will not sit in the middle of the living room and lick my crotch when we have company.
  16. The cat is not a squeaky toy -- so when I play with him and he makes that noise, its usually not a good thing.
  17. Why do humans only have 10 Commandments and dogs have 16?

And, finally, my last question...

Dear God: When I get to Heaven, may I have my testicles back?

microtext

Jared, Dan, Flan and I were looking for place to pig out, and we came across Family international buffet restuarant at Tampines last saturday.

Why can't they simply indicate the different prices for various days of the week? Is there always a need for companies to play around with those microtexts and font-2 terms and conditions?

I should open a resturant too. With a all you can eat Buffet for only $2* !!!
Opens from Daily from 8am to 10pm!!!

*Additional $50.90 on MONDAY to THURSDAY from 8.01am to 10pm
*Additional $65.90 on FRIDAY to SUNDAY from 8.01am to 4pm
*Additional $82.90 on FRIDAY to SUNDAY from 4pm to 10pm

Revelation

Imagine one day, you finished making dinner, and you're waiting for your loved one to return home from work. But he/she isn't back. and its 9pm. The food's getting cold.

You call the office. You call him/her. You send text messages. You call his/her friends, colleagues, family.

No one knows.

You seek answers. You seek explanations. But no one has it. or at least, no one wants to give any.

That's what pregnant Isabella has to go through in the movie - Rendition.

Watched it just now at Bedok's Princess, the only cinema which starts their movie ON TIME! when they say the movie starts at 9.30pm, it Really begins at 9.30pm on the dot! Kinda disgusted at how the government tortures people as a form of interrogation, just to get information. information that may not be even true... so as to just escape from their captives.

to wish upon a star

seems like im not the only suay one to be stuck when SMRT had some faults on their train tracks...

"“Dear passengers, the train will no longer be in service. Pls kindly evacuate and wait for the next train.”
“oh my goodness. I have never been so sway in my life!” Exclaimed a middle class female worker.

I packed up and exited the train. While waiting for the next train to arrive, another announcement greeted us.

“Dear passengers, due to a major track fault at Dhoby Ghaut, no train services will be available for one hour for services heading towards Marina Bay. We apologise for the inconvenience…”
I couldn’t listen to it no more. I took the escalator and tapped my card out of the station.

same thing happened to me!! the whole north-south line was affected! argh.

was on my way home heading towards Yishun from Chua chu kang and my trained halted before woodlands.

me and my frens started crapping loudly while we're stranded in the middle of woodlands and marsiling.

Perhaps the door would open and we passengers will need to alight and walk on the opposite train tracks to woodlands station, then climb on the platform followed by exiting the station. Or perhaps the SCDF will come with their fire engines and rescue all of us. Imagine the fire engines, extending their mobile ladders onto the trains above, and the stranded souls would need to climb down... what a scene.

or maybe we should just reveal our secret smart watches and teleport us out of the trains back home, just by pressing a button.

hmmm.

Ended work ridiculously late today because of a major event and parade. missed today's Reachlight service. only managed to meet up with some of my fellow cell mates for supper at Macs at tampines.

Lie Cong: Haha! no harm done, im used to being 'Suan-ed". just pay me back french fries next time!! *evil grin

Weiling: The weird noise you heard didnt came from me!! *roll eyes

Flannery: why are you laughing so loud like LiJia?! hahaha...

Caught a midnight movie with flan and isabel... Stardust!

From what i saw from the trailers, it seemed to me like some cheap imitation copy from the Chronicles of narnia. but i was wrong... this original comical romantic fairy-tale is worth my 8 bucks.

Imagine Lord of the Rings... Just this time, its Lord of the Ruby, in a Final Fantasy kind of setting. imagine 3 of the King's remaining sons are on the hunt of a lost ruby, held by a fallen star. imagine a gay captain on his flying pirate ship. imagine the black magics and hexes. and wooo... imagine what lovely hair Yvaine has. go watch it if you haven't. =)

"To overcome a habit that has lasted for years is no easy feat.

It requires lots of strength.
heaps of will power.

It requires lots of discipline.
lots of self-control.

Energy will be drained.
Emotions will be low.

We begin to hate the sin.
We move on to blame God for creating the source.

It has destroyed part of my life.
And no way i will let it damage further.

But so much effort has gone into it.
so much resources.

All the time spent.
All the money spent.

It will be all gone.

It's because I am blessed by my Creator.
I am blessed by His grace and gifts.
Blessed by my friends.
Loved by my family.

It is now that I have to put all aside.

I will hurt no one anymore.

I love my family.
I love my friends.
I love the bonds and relationships that's been forged.

To put it all behind.
To give it all up.
It hurts.
It really hurts.

But its worth it.

Because i am an overcomer.
Because i treasure what is real.
Because i treasure my loved ones.
Because i treasure my friends.
Because i treasure my life."
