:)

Stand up, wash up, put on that smile once again.

Because today is a brand new day :)

White Wednesday

Could someone define "Happy"?

This transition to be another year older has been rather challenging. On the Contrary, the week began well, with many things to look forward too. The start of a brand new school term, teaching in a primary school, playing board games with friends, swimming, having pizza and playing cards by the poolside, and a tranquil night at YMCA rooftop with BudakPantai on stage.

And of course we all know that life is never a bed of roses.

Ignorance is indeed blissful. Because having knowledge of certain issues in life sucks. Because knowing certain things that somehow questions your very existence isn't a very nice feeling.

Now I know why my 4 uncles refuse to house my granddad, or rather, their own father.

Now I know why my granddad isn't around in the afternoons.

Now I know why they are quarrelling.

Now I know why my parents and my granddad are turning against each other.

And i wish i didn't have to be exposed to all these knowledge.

Now I know that my existence here on earth, is accidental.

ZzZzzz

The Playstation 3.

It is now the official black matter that is destroying the relationship between me and my brother.

Oh boy, strong urges to throw that thing down the rubbish chute.

Freestyle

One good way of utilizing your spare time in your holidays, is to catch up with old buddies! Met up with ChoonLim yesterday, and spent some time catching up on old times. Nope, not over lunch, not at some fancy restuarant, but in the pool!

Yep, a new discovery has been made. Other than swimming, a pool can be used as a splashy location for chitchats too.

On a random note;

As much as I wanted to try Grand Theft Auto VI on my family's Playstation 3, somehow or another I just couldn't be bothered to. Yep another positive step ahead. That's +1 point for me!

On another random note;

Two nights ago, I had 2 Mini Snow-skin Mooncake with Champagne Truffle & Ganache from Raffles Hotel. Deellleeecciioouss =)

Health!

"On a personal note, he spoke of how he faced ageing and stayed in fine shape.

He cycles and swims daily. He also eats moderately, enjoys his work and sleeps well at night."

-ST, wed 10th sept-

For those who hasn;t read yesterday's papers, the above-mentioned "he" refers to our Minister Mentor, and it is definitely an example to follow. Despite his age, his positive attitude towards life and personal discipline to maintain in good shape is inspiring! And with my regular cravings/consumption of Carls Jr's Double Western Bacon Cheesebuger with crisscut fries, I wonder how long will I survive. Hoho.

Speaking of health, periodically i'm having anginas again. Doctors claimed i'm well, and I believe that im not suffering from any form of coronary artery disease or any form of atherosclerosis.

A quick search on the net led me to the following;

"Prinzmetal's angina, also known as variant angina or angina inversa, is a syndrome typically consisting of angina (cardiac chest pain) at rest that occurs in cycles. It is caused by vasospasm, a narrowing of the coronary arteries caused by contraction of the smooth muscle tissue in the vessel walls."

Uh huh.

There's no end to knowledge. No end to what we can learn provided one is given sufficient time and resources. And that's what keeps me going in pursuing science i guess. The constant discovery of new facts/characteristics of our ownself, and the little minute details in each one of us, knowing that God has put so much effort in perfecting everyone of us to make us still so unique from each other.

So close

Daniel, jeremy, sivam were discussing about tower defense and their game of "Defense of the Ancients"

And Choon Lim is asking me about some LAN connectivity stuff for warcraft III.

Oh My Goodness, it's almost one year that I've touched that game!! Time really flies!! I can somehow hear the CD calling out, "Cooommeeee instaaalll mmeeeeee..."

hoho.

Children

Another fruitful week has gone by, just like that. Indeed, time literally fly by when one is enjoying oneself, with a good company of friends while having a good time together and all.

Teaching at a primary school was an eye-opener. You'll know of kids who'll bring their PSP to class, their Nokia N-series cellular phone, their Yugiyo cards, and you begin to wonder if parents these days are becoming more affluent and are pampering their kids like lil kings. I mean, definitely no one can blame the parents, after all, parents shower their children with love, with gifts. Just as how our Heavenly dad gave us the gift of Life. But a high-end cellular phone at a tender age of 8? Hmmm.

Or perhaps are they like lil kids who...

KID:

Mummy, I want a handphone! I want a handphone! *whines*

PARENT:
No! You're too young to own one yet my dear.

KID:
So what?? I still want a phone! I say buy me one or else...

***KID breaks parent's favoutite champagne flute***

PARENT:

ARGHH!! Noooo!! Not that!! OK, we'll get one for you, a nice Nokia 3310 for you to call us when you end school.

KID:
Wa Lao! Nokia 3310 so laoya! So ugly, where got cool?? I want the Sexy Samsung i8510 INNOV8 Slider Phone i saw TV the other day! That one is Sleek, hot and Chio! Got WIFI and a 8-Megapixel camera also!!! Nokia sucks lah.

The language and lingos used by kids these days are, erm, impressive. Haha!

The afternoons of thursday and friday were spent at PitStop Cafe once again. Haha. Call me addicted or Nuts, but I feel it's a good place to relax and fellowship after a hard day at work (not that my job was very demanding).

Even in cooperative games like Shadows Over Camelot, this flannery still has a nerve to attempt to conquer all artifacts for himself and not having a team spirit to aid one another (no offense bro! heh). Nope, we aint playing with traitors, i think 3 squires battling against the progression of evil and a traitor knight would pretty much spell D.O.O.M. for Camelot.

Ended the weekdays with some sun and perspiration on the sands of Sentosa! And oh man, i think my youth is diminishing as the months go by. Heh. Can't really enjoy as much as I can anymore when all of us begin our career path soon.

*DISCLAIMER*
The example about the Kid used in this Blog entry are for illustration only. The issue the author is driving at is about the kids. Not the phones. Nokia isn't cool, Samsung is, we all know. But lets not get distracted. Focus on the kids, the discussion about the kids that is.

Back in fourteen

Giving tuition, teaching at a school, gave me a little slight glimpse of my past. And that made me wondered how on earth did I get to where I am today.

Looking at my sec 2 kid, seeing him getting so caught up with his games & PSP when he's not studying, and even when he is, not 100% effort is put into it too. Spending so much time in CCAs in school, and coming home late, and with mum constantly nagging and persuading (or rather, forcing) him to study.

That is quite a close reflection of my past! And if only I knew the importance of studies back in the years... haha.

Animate

I think the best person to judge how good a movie is, is yourself! Haha. Jia watched the movie back at home some time back and kinda discouraged me to catch the show as she felt it wasn't nice. But I disagree!! The fine detailed animations were awesome, and the videography with utilization of the effects of the aperture and depths of field in the film, rendered "Wall-E" a positive experience for me. Unlike other animations, this cartoon has certain messages intended for the world to know and to ponder upon. Out of 5, i award it with 4 pixels!

I also enjoy movies where its trailers doesn't give full spoilers the entire show itself. Take Space Chimps for example, all the jokes and important story plot are already revealed in the movie trailers, and viewers (like me unfortunately) would be disappointed as we would already know most of the plot.

Ended choir with a nice dinner opposite Soka, where I had TomYam BanMian (yes, again). That's where you can find Singapore's thinnest BanMian, and one look at it, you might think it's just a flatten type of YouMian. Haha. Oh well, at least it reached my minimal standard, although the normal soupy version of it kinda sucked in my opinion. Don't even try. And the evening ended with the movie with JianHan, Thiapine, Crystal, Terry, and one more guy.

Ugh, forgotten his name!! Wait, kinda remember it vaguely. ahh, talk about the effects of aging and what it does to your hippocampus in our temporal lobes underneath our pia mater.

Reached home and was greeted by a couple of licks from Baby :)

Look at Amelia with her long Orange dress! Nice. Oh wait, that's the table.
